Joy Behar surprises Anson Mount with on-air kiss during The View

Joy Behar surprised viewers during Wednesday's episode of The View by greeting actor Anson Mount with a kiss on the lips as he joined the panel for an interview.

Mount, who appeared on the show to promote season 4 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, greeted moderator Whoopi Goldberg and the other cohosts before reaching Behar. After an initial hug and kiss on the cheek, Behar leaned in for a kiss on the lips, drawing laughter from the audience and visible surprise from cohost Sara Haines.

As Mount took his seat, it became clear that some of Behar's lipstick had transferred onto his face. Sunny Hostin handed him a tissue while joking that Behar had been talking about his appearance throughout the morning.

Behar laughed off the moment, saying, "I'm old, but I'm not dead." Mount responded jokingly, "That's it, Joy, because I am," before the interview continued. Behar added that Mount had brought her flowers for her birthday during a previous visit, prompting Mount to remind her, "I got married, so..." Behar replied, "That's what I mean!"

Mount has been married to photographer Darah Trang since 2018.
