Kathie Lee Gifford Says Faith Helped Her Forgive Frank Gifford’s Infidelity

Kathie Lee Gifford has spoken openly about her late husband Frank Gifford’s infidelity, saying she does not consider it an affair because it happened only once.

Speaking on the Hang Out With Sean Hannity podcast, she said the betrayal hurt her deeply. “It was horrible,” she said, adding that what her husband did was more painful than the media attention that followed.

Frank Gifford, a former New York Giants star, admitted to being unfaithful after initially denying reports in 1997. Kathie Lee said she believed him at first and felt betrayed again when he allowed her to publicly deny the story before confessing.

She said she never considered divorce and stayed with him because of her Christian faith. Although she forgave him, she admitted their marriage was never the same.

Kathie Lee also said she worked hard to protect their young children, Cody and Cassidy, from the public scandal. Frank Gifford died in 2015 after nearly 29 years of marriage.
