Larry David Appears to Roast RFK Jr. Over Vaccine Views

Larry David appeared to mock Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in his new HBO sketch comedy series, Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America.

In one sketch, David plays the mother of polio vaccine pioneer Jonas Salk. A character named "Bobby," who appears to reference Kennedy, claims the polio vaccine is dangerous. David's character angrily dismisses him, saying he knows nothing about science and warning that putting someone like him in charge would be a "dark day for humanity."

Kennedy, who became HHS secretary in February 2025, has faced criticism for his past skepticism about vaccines.

David and Kennedy were once friends, and David introduced Kennedy to actress Cheryl Hines, whom Kennedy married in 2014. Hines has said their friendship cooled because of politics.

The HBO series airs Fridays.
