Portman, who recently announced she is expecting her third child, shared a photo showing her baby bump with the caption, “Counting the days until we meet you.” Culkin replied simply, “Gee whiz,” echoing the style of his iconic character, Kevin McCallister.
Portman confirmed in April that she is expecting her first child with French producer Tanguy Destable. She is already the mother of two children, Aleph and Amalia, from her previous marriage to choreographer Benjamin Millepied.
Several celebrities, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Garner and Julianne Moore, also congratulated Portman in the comments.
Culkin and Portman, both 45, rose to fame as child actors in the 1990s. Culkin starred in Home Alone, while Portman made her breakthrough in Léon: The Professional. Both have continued successful acting careers, with Portman winning an Academy Award for Black Swan and Culkin recently appearing in television series including The Righteous Gemstones and Running Point.
