Matt Damon Says Family Dinner Is a Daily Non-Negotiable

Matt Damon says family dinner is a daily tradition that he and his wife, Luciana Damon, refuse to skip as they prepare to become empty nesters.

In an interview with People, Damon said the family has dinner together every night. However, he admitted they recently realized they were going through the motions without really connecting. One of their daughters pointed out that no one had talked during a recent meal, reminding them why the tradition matters.

Damon said he and Luciana are encouraging everyone to be more present and spend less time on their phones. With daughters Alexia, Isabella, Gia, and Stella growing up and leaving home, the couple wants to make the most of their remaining time together.

The actor also acknowledged that his demanding film career has often taken him away from his family. He said he has been thinking more about living in the moment as his children get older.

Damon and Luciana began dating in 2003, married in 2005, and have three daughters together. Damon also adopted Luciana's eldest daughter, Alexia.
