Abby Elliott Files for Divorce From Husband Bill Kennedy After Nearly 10 Years of Marriage

Actress Abby Elliott has filed for divorce from her husband, producer Bill Kennedy, after nearly 10 years of marriage.

According to court documents filed in Los Angeles on July 17, Elliott cited irreconcilable differences and listed July 8 as the date they separated. She is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their two children, daughter Edith, 5, and son William, 3.

Elliott is also requesting spousal support while asking the court to end its ability to award support to Kennedy. She has also asked that he pay her attorney's fees.

The couple married on Sept. 8, 2016. In a December 2025 interview with Parents magazine, Elliott spoke about their experience with infertility and IVF, explaining that the treatment helped them have their two children after they were unable to conceive naturally.
