In a humorous video shared on the film’s official Instagram account, the Stranger Things star addressed the wave of online speculation surrounding her character.
“Since the trailer dropped, I’ve seen so many theories about who I’m playing,” Sink said before jokingly revealing three “confirmed” facts: she is not Spider-Man, not Aunt May, and she is “definitely” in the movie. As for her actual role, she teased, “You’ll have to find out in the theater.”
Marvel has kept Sink’s character under wraps, fueling fan theories that she could play X-Men icon Jean Grey, Peter Parker’s love interest Gwen Stacy, or the superhero Firestar.
Speaking previously to Nylon, Sink admitted joining the Marvel franchise felt intimidating because of its massive fanbase but praised co-star Tom Holland for making her feel welcome on set.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal, and Sadie Sink. The film arrives in theaters on July 31.
