Tom Holland Says Athena Couldn't Love Odysseus: "She's Married to Me

Tom Holland and Zendaya are keeping busy this July with two major movie releases. Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey opened in theaters on July 17, while Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to arrive later this month.

On the day The Odyssey premiered, the couple were seen separately in New York before meeting for a date night. Zendaya wore two different outfits during the day, including a black Louis Vuitton leather look and a gray top with burgundy pants. Tom was spotted in a striped sweater and jeans.

During a Wired interview with his The Odyssey co-stars, Tom joked about Zendaya's character, Athena. When asked if Athena loved Odysseus romantically, he replied, "No, because she's married to me." His co-stars, including Matt Damon, laughed, and Damon called it a "good answer."

Tom later read another question asking why Athena chooses Odysseus. Damon avoided revealing spoilers, saying the relationship is more complicated than it seems and that viewers will have to watch the film.

Although Tom and Zendaya both appear in The Odyssey, they do not share any scenes. Fans will see them together again in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which opens later this month.
