Tom Holland Sweetly Refers to Zendaya as His Wife During Podcast Appearance

Tom Holland is publicly embracing married life, referring to Zendaya as his “wife” during recent promotional interviews for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.

Appearing on the U.K. podcast Dish, Holland joked that his ideal travel companion would be “my wife,” adding that it would be odd to skip a vacation with Zendaya in favor of co-star Matt Damon.

The actor has also shared lighthearted stories about their relationship while promoting the film. In an interview with PEOPLE, Holland recalled telling Zendaya he had been offered a role in The Odyssey, joking that she threatened to “leave” him if he turned down the opportunity. During a separate Wired interview, he quipped that Zendaya’s character, Athena, could not have romantic feelings for Damon’s Odysseus “because she’s married to me.”

Holland confirmed in a June interview with Esquire that he and Zendaya had married, following comments earlier this year from Zendaya’s longtime stylist, Law Roach, who said the couple’s wedding had already taken place.

The pair, who met while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017 and confirmed their relationship in 2021, will next share the screen in The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
