Speaking during Entertainment Weekly’s Around the Table, Holland said he felt the pressure of establishing the stakes for Matt Damon’s Odysseus early in the film while playing his son, Telemachus. However, learning Pattinson had been cast as the antagonist Antinous gave him confidence.
“I knew when I found out that you were playing Antinous that I could relax because you’re so good at being a dickhead,” Holland joked, praising Pattinson for raising the level of every scene they share.
The Odyssey marks the third collaboration between Holland and Pattinson after The Lost City of Z (2016) and The Devil All the Time (2020). Christopher Nolan’s epic also stars Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, John Leguizamo, Benny Safdie, Charlize Theron, and others.
