Tom Holland Says There’s a Plan for the Next Spider-Man

Tom Holland says Marvel already has a plan for how Spider-Man will eventually be passed on to a new actor.

Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Holland said he and Marvel have been discussing the transition since Spider-Man: No Way Home. He said the plan may change over time but that he has a "clear vision" for how the baton will be passed.

Holland, who first played Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War (2016), will return as Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which opens in theaters on July 31.

The actor also said he hopes to help introduce Miles Morales into the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe. He wants to mentor the next Spider-Man actor, similar to how Robert Downey Jr. supported him early in his Marvel career.

Miles Morales has appeared in Sony's animated Spider-Verse films, and his family has already been referenced in the MCU, leading many fans to expect his live-action debut.

Holland also expressed support for separate Spider-Man projects featuring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, saying he enjoys seeing different versions of the character across live-action, animated films, and series. He praised the Spider-Verse movies, calling them the best Spider-Man films because of their heart.
