Linda Perhacs Found Safe After Months of Concern

Psychedelic folk musician Linda Perhacs has been found safe after months without contact, according to her representatives. They said she has been placed in a new care facility.

Friends and collaborators had raised concerns after they were unable to reach the 80-year-old singer following her discharge from a residential care facility about eight months ago. Police reports were filed, and supporters launched a public appeal to confirm her well-being.

In a statement, Perhacs' representatives thanked fans, musicians, journalists, and the wider community for helping spread awareness. They asked that her privacy be respected while those close to her decide the best path forward.

Former manager Laurel Stearns said the most important thing is that Perhacs is "safe and comfortable."

Perhacs released her influential debut album, Parallelograms, in 1970 after being discovered by composer Leonard Rosenman. Although the album received little attention at first, it later became a cult classic. She returned to music decades later with The Soul of All Natural Things (2014) and I'm a Harmony (2017).
