In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said President Donald Trump had been "totally exonerated" in relation to Epstein. She added that Trump had released thousands of pages of documents, cooperated with congressional requests, signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and called for further investigations.
Jackson also criticised Democratic leaders, claiming they had not explained contacts with Epstein after his conviction.
Ritchson, speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, accused politicians of failing to release the remaining Epstein files and called for greater accountability. Without naming anyone directly, he also made allegations about a powerful political figure, saying those responsible should face justice.
The Reacher star said he is outspoken because he cares about fairness and injustice, adding that many politicians have "lost the plot". He also said working with an ADHD coach has helped him better understand how frustration over perceived injustice shapes his political views.
Ritchson urged people to reject division and hatred, arguing that no genuine religion supports treating others as enemies.
