Anna Faris Says a “Girls Getaway Weekend” Is a Fantasy

Anna Faris says finding time for female friendships has become difficult as she balances her acting career and parenting her 13-year-old son, Jack.

Speaking with PEOPLE alongside her Spa Weekend costars Leslie Mann, Isla Fisher and Michelle Buteau, the 49-year-old actress joked that she might have to wait until her son graduates before she can spend more time with longtime friends.

Fisher, 50, who is divorced from Sacha Baron Cohen, offered a different perspective, joking that she now has plenty of time to see friends.

The actresses star in Spa Weekend, which follows four high school friends who reunite for a chaotic weekend at a luxury resort. Faris said the film reminded her to appreciate the importance of close friendships and expressed hope that the group could make another movie together.

Faris also described a girls’ getaway as “a fantasy” because of her responsibilities as a mother, including taking her son to basketball games and dentist appointments.

Spa Weekend, directed and written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, opened in theaters on Aug. 21.
