Anne Hathaway Responds to Pregnancy Speculation

Anne Hathaway has responded to online speculation about whether her pregnancy is real.

The 43-year-old actress, who is expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, addressed the comments in an Instagram video on Monday, Aug. 10. The video showed her preparing for and attending the Los Angeles premiere of her new film, “The End of Oak Street.”

Hathaway wore a silk crop top and low-rise jeans that revealed her baby bump. After photos and videos from the event went viral, some social media users claimed her bump looked fake.

“Fake hair, real bump,” Hathaway wrote in the caption of her Instagram post, appearing to dismiss the speculation.

Hathaway and Shulman are already parents to sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6. She announced her pregnancy in June with a photo and video showing her cradling her stomach.

During a July appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” Hathaway said she and Shulman were “so shocked” to learn they were expecting another child. She jokingly called the baby their “buzzer-beater.”

At the New York City premiere of “The Odyssey” in July, Hathaway explained that the nickname reflected how unexpected the pregnancy was. She said the couple had realistic expectations because pregnancy can become more difficult with age.

Hathaway said she and Shulman are “overjoyed” and view the pregnancy as a blessing they do not take for granted.
