Travis Barker Recalls Daughter’s Eerie Warning Before 2008 Plane Crash

Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker says his daughter, Alabama Barker, gave him an unsettling warning shortly before the 2008 plane crash he survived.

Speaking on the Aug. 10 episode of the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast, Barker recalled that he had considered canceling a performance near the University of South Carolina on Sept. 19, 2008. He said he was reluctant to leave his children and even asked his manager if it was too late to pull out.

Before he left, Barker said Alabama, who was young at the time, became unusually upset and told him, “Dad, don’t go!” She was crying and added, “The roof’s gonna come off.”

Barker ultimately boarded a private jet with his friend and DJ Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein, along with assistant Chris “Lil Chris” Baker, bodyguard Charles “Che” Still, and the two pilots.

The plane crashed shortly after takeoff. Barker and Goldstein were the only survivors, although both suffered serious injuries. Goldstein died in 2009 at age 36.

Barker said he had an uneasy feeling about the small plane and regretted not asking more questions about its pilots and maintenance because the flight had been arranged at the last minute.

He also recalled telling his father before boarding, “If something happens to me, please make sure the kids are taken care of.”

Looking back, Barker said he would now trust his instincts and refuse to board the plane.
