One Dead After Crash Involving Buckcherry Tour Bus in South Carolina

One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash involving Buckcherry’s tour bus on Interstate 26 near Spartanburg, South Carolina, early Friday morning.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. as the band was traveling from a show in Asheville, North Carolina, to its next performance in Florida. According to South Carolina authorities, a driver got out of his vehicle on the highway and was struck and killed by a Toyota sedan. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Buckcherry said all band members and touring crew were safe and unharmed. A representative said the accident occurred before the tour bus reached the scene and confirmed that the band’s driver was not injured.

The victim has not been publicly identified. The cause of the initial crash remains unclear, and all eastbound lanes were closed for several hours.

Buckcherry’s scheduled performance in Fort Lauderdale went ahead as planned, with no changes announced to the band’s Roar Like Thunder tour.

The band, formed in Anaheim, California, in 1995, is best known for songs including “Crazy Bitch” and “Sorry.” Its current lineup includes singer Josh Todd, guitarist Stevie Dacanay, guitarist Billy Rowe, bassist Kelly LeMieux and drummer Francis Ruiz.
