Christopher Lambert Hospitalized After Collapsing at Pittsburgh Comic-Con

“Highlander” star Christopher Lambert suffered a medical emergency Saturday while attending Steel City Comic-Con in Pittsburgh, where he was signing autographs for fans.

The 69-year-old French actor suddenly collapsed during the convention and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, according to a witness who spoke to TMZ. The convention later confirmed that Lambert had to leave the event because of a “personal issue” and canceled his scheduled photo op.

Lambert’s representative told TMZ that the actor is “perfectly ok” and resting in his hotel room. According to the spokesperson, Lambert had gotten little sleep the previous night and had eaten very little during the day, causing his blood sugar to drop.

It remains unclear whether Lambert will return to Steel City Comic-Con on Sunday. He is, however, expected to be well enough to attend his scheduled appearance at FAN EXPO in Chicago next week.

The incident comes a year after Lambert suffered another health scare. He injured his back in a fall down a flight of stairs at a hotel, forcing him to cancel an appearance at the Swedish festival SciFiWorld.
