Carmen Electra Open to Returning for New ‘Baywatch’ Reboot

Carmen Electra is open to returning to the beach for a new chapter of “Baywatch.”

The actress, who joined the original series in 1997 during its eighth season, recently told Fox News Digital that the show’s unique mix of fantasy, lifeguard drama and sex appeal helped make it a global phenomenon. She also credited the original cast, including Pamela Anderson and Yasmine Bleeth, for giving the series its distinctive appeal.

Electra said “Baywatch” also had an unexpected educational side, noting that viewers could learn lifesaving skills such as CPR. She joked that she still remembers how to perform CPR herself.

Now, with David Chokachi set to return as Cody Madison, Electra said she would happily reprise her role as his former love interest.

“I could do something. Come in, have another love scene with David Chokachi. Just something really cute and fun,” she said. “I think it would be really fun and why not?”

Chokachi’s character is now the owner of a beachside bar and mentor to a younger generation of lifeguards. Electra suggested she could make a surprise appearance, joking that the two characters could even fall in love again.

One thing she would not want to repeat, however, is the rigorous training she underwent when she first joined the cast.

Electra also reflected on her recent appearance on Fox’s “Nation’s Dumbest,” admitting that the celebrity competition caused her significant anxiety. She was eliminated after the fourth episode, which aired Aug. 5.

“Nation’s Dumbest” airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on Fox, with new episodes streaming the following day on Hulu.
