Craig Revel Horwood Recalls Robbery, Stabbing and Other Travel Ordeals

Aug. 4 — Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has shared a series of frightening travel experiences, including being robbed and slashed during a trip to Madrid.

Speaking on the Aug. 4 episode of the Judgemental podcast with fellow judge Anton Du Beke, Horwood said he was attacked while walking home from a club at around 2 a.m. He said thieves stole his jewelry, ripping a necklace from his neck and leaving burn marks, before slashing him across the stomach with what he described as a razor blade.

Horwood did not say whether anyone was arrested following the attack.

He added that his troubles continued when he returned to France, where police reportedly strip-searched him because they suspected he was carrying drugs. Horwood said his injuries and unshaven appearance made him look suspicious.

The television personality also recalled other difficult holidays. During a trip to Mombasa, Kenya, he said he only learned after arriving that his prepaid hotel had burned down and was moved to another hotel.

He also described a cruise on the Nile in Egypt where several passengers reportedly became ill with salmonella after eating spoiled chicken, with some collapsing while waiting at the airport.

Horwood shared the stories while discussing some of the worst experiences he has had while traveling.
