David Foster Denies Snubbing Meghan Markle at Charity Gala

David Foster has denied snubbing Meghan Markle at a recent charity gala, calling the Duchess of Sussex a “dear friend.”

The 76-year-old composer said he had already greeted Markle and Prince Harry before cameras captured a moment in which he appeared to walk past Markle as she reached out to him.

Foster told People that he had spoken with the couple about 10 minutes before the incident and said there was “no awkward moment and certainly no snub.” He described the online reaction as a “hurtful lie” caused by his positioning.

A source also told Page Six that Foster had greeted the couple before the video was recorded.

Foster and his wife, singer Katharine McPhee, have been friends with Harry and Meghan for years. Foster has a particularly close relationship with Harry, whom McPhee previously described as having a “father and son” bond with the producer.

McPhee has also known Meghan since their school years, although they attended the school at different times.
