Eminem Pays Tribute to Dolly Parton, Shares Her Heartfelt Note

Eminem has paid tribute to Dolly Parton following the country music legend’s death at 80.

The rapper shared a note Parton sent him after his 2022 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In the message, Parton praised his performance and said that, although she did not know much about rap, she believed he was “the very best at it.”

Parton also said she felt an unexplained connection to Eminem and hoped they would meet someday. She ended the note by telling him that he was “very special” and touched people in ways he might not realize.

Eminem said the message had a lasting impact on him, even though they never met. He called Parton “an icon” and “a superstar in every sense.”

Parton was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame alongside Eminem in 2022. She had initially been reluctant to accept the nomination, saying she did not feel she had earned the honor. She later embraced the induction and used it as inspiration for Rockstar, her first rock album, released in 2023.

Rockstar, which featured artists including Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Sting and Stevie Nicks, became Parton’s final studio album released during her lifetime.
