Eva Longoria Says Son Santiago Won’t Be Watching ‘Desperate Housewives’ Anytime Soon

Eva Longoria has one firm rule when it comes to her 8-year-old son, Santiago: He is not allowed to watch her hit series “Desperate Housewives” yet.

Longoria, 51, told PEOPLE that Santiago has recently become “obsessed” with online memes featuring her character, Gabrielle Solis. When he asks when he can watch the ABC series, Longoria said her answer is simple: “Never.”

The actress also shared several personal highlights in PEOPLE’s “One Last Thing” feature. She recalled meeting Tom Cruise at David Beckham’s star ceremony and said the actor still leaves her “starstruck.”

Longoria also remembered a wardrobe mishap at the Cannes Film Festival. After her gown failed to arrive on time, she quickly chose another dress and began taking photos on the red carpet before her stylist pointed out that she was wearing it backward.

She said she expects to earn “extra mom points” when she takes Santiago to see Bruno Mars, whose tour immediately caught her son’s attention.

Longoria also described a recent romantic date with her husband, José Antonio “Pepe” Bastón, in France’s Loire Valley, where they visited a castle. At home, she said, their typical date night is more relaxed, with Longoria cooking tacos while Bastón opens a bottle of wine.

Longoria stars in “The Last Sunrise,” a Prime Video film based on the novel by New York Times bestselling author Anna Todd. The film is currently streaming on Prime Video.
