The 92-year-old singer posted on Instagram, “In spite of what you might have heard, I am not retired. – Frankie.”
The controversy began after Bobby announced on Facebook that Frankie would retire, citing his age and ongoing health concerns. Bobby later revised the statement, saying he believed Frankie might stop touring, and subsequently apologized, saying he had been misinformed.
Frankie canceled his 2026 farewell tour in May, saying he needed to take the rest of the year off to focus on his health. The nature of his health issues has not been disclosed.
Valli has performed for 75 years and rose to international fame as the lead singer of the Four Seasons, whose hits include “Sherry,” “Walk Like a Man” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” His career was later chronicled in the Broadway musical and 2014 film Jersey Boys.
