Moakler, 51, addressed the controversy after appearing to take a swipe at Kardashian on social media this week. Speaking to the Daily Mail on Friday, Moakler downplayed the situation.
“Honestly, there’s no major story here,” she said, explaining that she often posts and deletes things on social media. “There really isn’t anything more I want to add to it.”
However, Moakler suggested that readers will hear more when her memoir, Queen Risen, is released. She announced in February that she had completed the book.
“In due time, I’ll be sharing my story in my own words through my book, and I’m looking forward to that,” she said.
The latest drama began after a video showed Moakler’s three children with Travis Barker — Atiana De La Hoya, 27, Landon Barker, 22, and Alabama Barker, 20 — alongside Barker’s current wife, Kardashian, at the premiere of his documentary, Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear.
Kardashian attended the event without her four children: Mason, 16, Penelope, 14, Reign, 11, whom she shares with Scott Disick, and Rocky, 2, her son with Barker.
Moakler appeared to question Kardashian’s absence in a TikTok comment that has since been deleted, writing, “Where are her children?”
The comment quickly drew attention because of Moakler’s long history of tension with Kardashian and the Kardashian family.
Moakler previously discussed her relationship with Kardashian during an appearance on Brittany Cartwright’s When Reality Hits podcast. Asked whether she and Kardashian communicate about co-parenting, Moakler said, “I don’t think those women have those conversations with anybody,” appearing to criticize the Kardashian family more broadly.
She also said she had felt that some past interactions were not respectful.
“At certain times, I felt, ‘Wow, if I had your kids, I wouldn’t be doing some of the s–t you’re doing with my kids,’” Moakler said.
Her public criticism of the Kardashian family is not new. In June 2024, she told People that she did not feel obligated to like the famous family.
“I’m honestly sick of talking about them,” she said at the time. “As I stand here today, as a mature woman who’s gone through all that … I do not give a f–k what anyone thinks of me anymore. I’m proud of who I am.”
Moakler and Barker married in October 2004 and split in 2006 after an on-and-off relationship. Their divorce was finalized in 2008. The former couple share three children.
Barker and Kardashian began dating in 2020 and married in Santa Barbara in May 2022. They welcomed their son, Rocky, in November 2023.
For now, Moakler says there is little more to say publicly. But with Queen Risen on the horizon, she appears to be saving her full account for the pages of her memoir.
