Gal Gadot Says She Won’t Return as Wonder Woman

Gal Gadot has confirmed that she does not expect to play Wonder Woman again.

The 41-year-old actress first appeared as Diana Prince in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She later returned for Wonder Woman (2017), Justice League (2017), and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020). She also made brief, uncredited appearances in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash.

While promoting her new Prime Video film The Runner, Gadot told ScreenRant that she has had no recent discussions with James Gunn or DC Studios about returning to the role. Her last talks with the studio were related to a potential third Wonder Woman film, but that project has not moved forward.

Gadot said she supports whoever is eventually chosen to play the superhero.

“This is such an incredible character that so many of us care about so much,” she said. “I’m just grateful that I was granted the opportunity to wear her boots and celebrate this incredible character and everything she stands for.”
