Glenn Close Reflects on Family and Career in Sweet Home Video

Oscar-nominated actress Glenn Close shared a personal video from her home in Bozeman, Montana, showing a quiet moment with a family heirloom.

In the video, the 79-year-old actress smiles at the camera and says she is home. She explains that she is wearing her mother’s shirt while enjoying the evening breeze and watching the sunset. Close ends by saying she feels blessed.

Her beloved Havanese dog, Pip, also appears to be nearby. Close mentioned the dog in the video’s caption: “And Pip is right behind me.”

The actress is also celebrating a major career honor. Close was recently announced as one of the recipients of an Academy Honorary Award. She will receive the Oscar at the 17th Governors Awards on Nov. 15, alongside director Ridley Scott and animator Floyd Norman.

Close has received eight acting Oscar nominations, the most of any living performer who has never won the award. In 2021, she joked that she might prefer never to win a competitive Oscar and instead receive a lifetime achievement award later in life.
