In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, Shah said she feels “blessed” and “free” and is looking forward to the future. She acknowledged that she made decisions with serious consequences and said her time in prison gave her an opportunity to reconsider her choices and take responsibility for her actions.
Shah was arrested in March 2021 while filming the second season of “RHOSLC.” She initially pleaded not guilty to conspiracy charges involving wire fraud and money laundering but pleaded guilty to wire fraud in July 2022.
In January 2023, she was sentenced to 6½ years in prison. She was also ordered to forfeit $6.5 million and pay $6.5 million in restitution to victims, many of whom were elderly and vulnerable people who lost money in the scheme.
Her sentence was later reduced several times for good behavior. She was moved to community confinement in December 2025 and spent the final months of her sentence under home confinement.
Shah said she is now focused on rebuilding her life, returning to work and spending time with her husband, college football coach Sharrieff Shah, and their two sons.
“I’m ready to work. I’m ready to create,” Shah said. “I’m genuinely excited about the future.”
