Jesy Nelson Says She's 'Terrified' as Twin Daughters Prepare for NG Tube Removal

Jesy Nelson has shared an emotional update about her twin daughters, revealing that they are scheduled to have their nasogastric (NG) feeding tubes removed on Friday.

The former Little Mix singer said she is both excited and nervous ahead of the procedure. In an Instagram Stories post on Thursday, Nelson wrote that while she is "terrified" about the operation, she is looking forward to seeing her daughters' faces without the tubes and adhesive dressings for the first time in months.

"I cannot wait to finally see their faces again and see their little dimples that are always hidden," she wrote, adding that she had forgotten what it felt like to cuddle them without worrying about accidentally pulling out the tubes.

Nelson's 14-month-old twin daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, were diagnosed earlier this year with Type 1 spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a rare genetic disorder that causes progressive muscle weakness. Type 1 is the most common and most severe form diagnosed in infancy, affecting breathing and movement if left untreated.

Since revealing the diagnosis in January, Nelson has openly documented her daughters' treatment and recovery while raising awareness about SMA. She has also campaigned for newborn screening for the condition in the UK, a goal that was recently achieved with the announcement of universal SMA testing.

The singer shares Ocean and Story with her former fiancé, Zion Foster. The couple ended their engagement after their daughters' diagnosis but have said they remain committed to co-parenting and keeping their daughters' wellbeing as their top priority.

Nelson has previously described the diagnosis as one of the most difficult experiences of her life, but continues to share hopeful milestones in her daughters' journey with her followers.
