Kacey Musgraves Asks Fans to Help Children Affected by Deportations

Kacey Musgraves asked fans at the opening night of her “Middle of Nowhere” tour in Chicago to donate to the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights as a birthday wish.

Musgraves said the Chicago-based nonprofit provides legal and financial support to children whose parents have been deported. She described the cause as nonpolitical, saying the children simply need help.

The Young Center advocates for unaccompanied and separated immigrant children in government custody. In 2024, it served 1,975 children from 53 countries and opened 1,388 new cases. Its 2025 report said children were spending an average of 198 days in detention, up from 30 days the previous year.

Musgraves has supported the organization before. In April, 20 pieces from her wardrobe were offered for sale through Depop, with proceeds benefiting the Young Center. She also invited three young mariachi musicians whose family had been released from ICE custody to perform at three Texas concerts in May.

The singer’s latest appeal comes as immigration enforcement has intensified. Federal sources told Fox News Digital that ICE made about 51,000 arrests in July, following roughly 43,000 in June. DHS has defended the arrests as enforcement of federal immigration law.

Musgraves’ North American arena tour began Friday in Chicago, with Midland as the opening act, and is scheduled to continue through October.
