Kellan Lutz Opens Up About Leaving California for Tennessee With His Family

Actor Kellan Lutz said he and his family moved from Orange County, California, to Tennessee about three years ago after the birth of their second child.

Speaking on the “Inside of You” podcast with Michael Rosenbaum, the “Twilight” actor said the move was largely driven by his wife, Brittany Lutz, who wanted more family support while he traveled for work.

Brittany, who was born and raised in Orange County, struggled when one of their children became sick and she was home alone with the kids. Her family had also moved to Tennessee, giving the couple a support system there.

Lutz said the family has enjoyed living in Franklin, Tennessee. They have bought land and become involved in local churches, Bible studies and the community. He also said the area has a surprisingly strong entertainment scene.

However, the family has had some challenges adjusting to life in Tennessee. Lutz said they miss California’s sushi and Mexican food, while tornadoes are a particular concern for his wife.

Brittany still hopes to eventually return to Orange County or live somewhere near the coast. Lutz said the family has not decided how long they will remain in Tennessee.
