Kyle Richards Wants a Cameo in Netflix’s ‘Little House on the Prairie’

Kyle Richards is hoping to return to the prairie.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star revealed that she has already pitched herself for a cameo in Netflix’s new Little House on the Prairie adaptation, a series with deep personal significance for her.

“I would love to make an appearance. Don’t think I didn’t ask them!” Richards told Entertainment Weekly at the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th premiere event in New York on Aug. 4.

Richards began her acting career on the original Little House on the Prairie at just five years old, playing Alicia Sanderson Edwards, the adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwards. She appeared on the series from 1975 to 1982 and also played another character in a one-episode appearance.

Although the new series’ timeline begins before her original character’s story, Richards said she is willing to play someone else. “I can do a cameo and play someone else,” she said.

The actress and reality star has already watched Netflix’s new adaptation, calling it “very touching” and “very nostalgic.” Seeing Warren Christie portray Mr. Edwards—originally played by Victor French, who played her on-screen father—brought back vivid memories of her childhood on the set.

Richards also recalled the small details of filming, including wearing period clothing and using a special hook to fasten her shoes.

And she has another observation about the new series: the dads are attractive. Comparing the new cast with original star Michael Landon, who played Charles “Pa” Ingalls, Richards joked, “The dads in Little House on the Prairie are really hot.”

Netflix has already renewed Little House on the Prairie for a second season, giving Richards another chance to make her return to the prairie a reality.
