According to the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC), the search was carried out under an inspection warrant with the Department of Regional Planning. Officials said they were checking buildings, permits and the welfare of the dogs after the kennel’s permits reportedly expired in 2023 and attempts to contact the owner went unanswered.
The county said the inspection was intended to determine whether the property complies with local regulations and animal welfare standards. The investigation remains ongoing.
TMZ reported that Blair was present during the inspection, cooperated with officials and that no dogs were removed.
In an Instagram post, Blair said she and the animals were safe and that the visit mainly involved paperwork and property diagrams. She added that she plans to relocate her animal rescue operation and expressed a desire to continue helping more animals.
Blair founded the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation in 2003, a nonprofit focused on rescuing and rehabilitating abused, neglected and abandoned animals. County officials said they cannot provide further details while the investigation is active.
