Wildfires Threaten Château Miraval as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Legal Fight Continues

Wildfires in southeastern France are burning near Château Miraval, the estate at the center of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's long-running legal dispute. Aerial photos published by TMZ show smoke close to the property, but the estate does not appear to have been damaged.

France is experiencing its worst wildfire season in 20 years. George and Amal Clooney have also evacuated their nearby home because of the fires.

The wildfire threat comes as Pitt and Jolie continue their court battle over Château Miraval. In June, Jolie asked a court to reject Pitt's request for several years of her financial records, arguing he had misrepresented her claims. Her lawyers said she was trying to separate her finances from Pitt, not claiming financial hardship.

Pitt sued Jolie in 2022 after she sold her share of the winery, alleging she violated an agreement that neither would sell without the other's consent. Jolie denied the claims and accused Pitt of acting vindictively after their 2016 divorce filing. Although the former couple finalized their divorce in December 2024, the dispute over Château Miraval is still ongoing.
