The Muse frontman, 48, filed for divorce on Wednesday, citing irreconcilable differences. Bellamy and Evans began dating in 2015 and married in Malibu, California, in August 2019.
The couple have two children, daughter Lovella, 6, and son George, 2. In court documents, Bellamy requested sole legal and physical custody. Evans told TMZ she plans to fight for custody and described the marriage as “unbearable,” saying the divorce had been “a long time coming.”
Bellamy did not give a separation date in the filing, but he revealed in June that the couple had split the previous summer. He said the breakup followed “a set of really unexpected circumstances” and that he focused on caring for their children and creating stability at home.
Bellamy also has a 15-year-old son, Bingham, with his former fiancée, actress Kate Hudson. Bellamy and Hudson have joint custody and have previously spoken positively about their co-parenting relationship.
Bellamy and Evans have a prenuptial agreement. Bellamy also asked the court to end his ability to receive spousal support.
