Melissa Joan Hart Still Gets Residuals From ‘Crocodile Dundee’ Role

Melissa Joan Hart is still earning small residual payments from her first film role, despite being cut from the final version of Crocodile Dundee.

Hart, who was 10 years old when the 1986 movie was released, told Page Six that she receives about 26 cents in residuals every few months. She reportedly played a young girl who skinned her knee in Central Park and was helped by Paul Hogan’s character, Mick Dundee.

Hart said she puts the money toward drinks at Residuals, a Los Angeles bar where performers can use their residual payments to pay for their tabs.

The actress has previously said being cut from Crocodile Dundee and Aliens, both in 1986, taught her to handle rejection early in her career.

Hart later appeared in The Equalizer and Another World before gaining fame as the star of Nickelodeon’s Clarissa Explains It All, which debuted in 1991. She went on to star in Sabrina the Teenage Witch, which ran for seven seasons.

Crocodile Dundee became a major international hit and spawned two sequels.
