Milo Yiannopoulos Arrested by ICE in Louisiana Over Immigration Case

Milo Yiannopoulos, a former spokesperson and head of special projects for Ye’s Yeezy brand, is in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody after being arrested in Louisiana.

Homeland Security said Yiannopoulos, a British citizen, was arrested by ICE officers on Thursday, Aug. 27, at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Kenner. Online records showed him in ICE custody Friday.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, Yiannopoulos entered the United States legally in May 2019 but later overstayed his visa. Officials said he failed to attend an immigration hearing on July 22, leading an immigration judge to issue a final order for his removal from the country.

“He will remain in ICE custody pending removal,” DHS said in a statement posted on X.

Yiannopoulos may have been traveling to New Orleans because Ye was scheduled to perform at the Caesars Superdome on Friday night.

Yiannopoulos became known as a political commentator before working with Ye. He joined West during his efforts to pursue a presidential campaign in 2024 and later held several roles at Yeezy. Although he announced his resignation from the company in 2024, he later appeared to return.

In recent posts on X, Yiannopoulos has strongly supported ICE and the deportation of people living in the U.S. illegally. In July, he called for ICE agents to be placed at supermarkets and government buildings in California and advocated immediate deportation for people unable to prove they were in the country legally.
