Minnie Driver Says She's 'Grateful to Be Alive' After Serious Car Crash in France

Minnie Driver has revealed she is recovering after surviving a serious car accident in France, saying she feels "grateful to be alive."

In an Instagram video shared on Thursday, the 56-year-old actress said she and her friend Ben were traveling on a country road when another vehicle failed to stop at an intersection, causing a high-speed collision.

"We crawled out of it. But we did get out of it alive," Driver said, adding that the crash was "not our fault."

The Good Will Hunting star said she suffered a sprained neck and is wearing a neck brace. She also admitted she remains in shock, explaining that she has been emotional in the days since the accident.

Driver credited the vehicle's safety features for saving their lives, praising the Kia they were driving and saying its airbags made the difference during the crash.

Photos included in her post showed the heavily damaged front of the car, as well as Driver and her friend wearing neck braces at what appeared to be a hospital.

In the caption, Driver thanked the passerby who stopped to help before emergency crews arrived and reflected on the emotional aftermath of the crash.

"My brain keeps replaying the crash," she wrote, adding that crying has been a necessary part of processing the traumatic experience.

Before the accident, Driver had been sharing moments from her vacation in Paris, including photos of sightseeing and enjoying local cuisine.
