Morrissey Cancels Las Vegas Residency Over ‘Logistical Issues’

Morrissey has canceled his upcoming Las Vegas residency, just months after the former Smiths frontman called off a concert in Spain because of severe sleep deprivation.

The 67-year-old singer was scheduled to perform four shows at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas on August 14, 15, 18 and 19. Ticket holders were informed Friday that the concerts would no longer take place.

“Due to unforeseen logistical issues, the scheduled Las Vegas residency cannot take place,” the cancellation notice said, according to Rolling Stone.

Neither Morrissey’s official website nor his team had publicly addressed the cancellation at the time of the announcement. Wynn Las Vegas has removed the shows from its entertainment listings, while Ticketmaster now says the event organizer has canceled the performances.

The cancellation follows another disrupted performance earlier this year. Morrissey was due to perform in Madrid in March but withdrew shortly before the show, saying he had been left severely sleep-deprived by construction noise near his hotel.

“An 8am drill is a drill too far,” Morrissey wrote at the time. He said the lack of sleep had left him in a “catatonic state” and added, “I will need one year to recover.”

The singer has a long history of canceled and postponed performances. In November 2025, two U.S. shows were called off after his team said he had received a “credible death threat” before a planned concert in Ottawa, Canada.

He also canceled several North American dates in 2024, initially citing “unforeseen circumstances.”

Morrissey became internationally known in the 1980s as the lead singer of The Smiths, one of Britain’s most influential alternative rock bands. The group, which also featured guitarist Johnny Marr, bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce, broke up in 1987.

Morrissey subsequently built a successful solo career, becoming one of the most recognizable and controversial figures in British rock. His latest Las Vegas cancellation adds another chapter to his long-running history of disrupted live performances.
