Perez Hilton’s Mother Seeks Temporary Custody of His Three Children

Perez Hilton’s mother, Teresita Lavandeira, has filed for temporary custody of his three children following the blogger’s recent mental health crisis.

Lavandeira filed the petition in a Miami family court on Aug. 7, three days after Hilton was hospitalized following a livestream in which he appeared to harm himself. Authorities responded to reports of a suicide attempt and hospitalized Hilton under Florida’s Baker Act, which allows people to be held involuntarily when they are considered a danger to themselves or others.

Hilton’s family said on Aug. 8 that he had suffered significant blood loss and additional injuries and would need surgery. They described his condition as serious but stable and said his recovery would be lengthy.

Hilton’s children — Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, 8 — live with Lavandeira in Miami. The family said the children, along with Hilton’s sister and niece, were at the home shortly before the livestream and left after realizing he was experiencing a severe mental health crisis.

Hilton’s representatives have not provided further updates on his condition. His TikTok account was also banned following the livestream.
