Raquel Lee Bolleau Reaches Private Settlement With Mark Curry Before Disney Abuse Lawsuit

Raquel Lee Bolleau, a former child actress, reportedly reached a private settlement years ago with her former The Poof Point costar Mark Curry, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The agreement was reportedly facilitated by attorney Gloria Allred. Financial details and the specific claims covered by the settlement have not been made public.

Bolleau, now 39, filed a lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Aug. 21, alleging that Disney failed to protect her from sexual abuse while she was working on the 2001 Disney Channel movie at age 14.

According to the lawsuit, an unidentified middle-aged male employee allegedly sexually abused and assaulted Bolleau multiple times at a hotel in Salt Lake City and during a flight to Los Angeles. She also alleges that he pressured her to drink alcohol and later made comments about their encounters while on set. Bolleau claims other adults witnessed warning signs but failed to intervene or investigate.

She says the alleged abuse caused major changes in her behavior and performance. According to the complaint, Disney executives blamed her for those changes and eventually canceled another planned role.

Bolleau is seeking damages for economic losses and emotional distress, along with punitive damages and legal costs. Disney, Bolleau and Curry had not publicly commented on the reported settlement or lawsuit at the time of the report.

Bolleau previously appeared on Nickelodeon’s The Amanda Show and was featured in the 2024 docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, where former child actors discussed alleged abuse and misconduct in the children’s entertainment industry.
