Shia LaBeouf Reportedly Still Drinks Alcohol Daily After Mardi Gras Arrest

Shia LaBeouf is reportedly still drinking alcohol every day, months after his drunken arrest in New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

The 40-year-old actor pleaded guilty in June to three misdemeanor battery charges stemming from a February altercation. He was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to complete alcohol-related treatment.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, LaBeouf reported that he “drinks alcohol daily” and declined mental health treatment. However, the documents also indicate that he has been complying with the requirements of his probation.

LaBeouf has regularly checked in with his probation supervisor and provided documentation showing that he plans to complete anger-management and substance-abuse treatment by next month.

His next court hearing is scheduled for Sept. 23, although court records indicate he is not expected to appear because he will be working on a movie.

The legal case dates back to Feb. 17, when LaBeouf was arrested after an altercation at a bar in New Orleans’ French Quarter. According to investigators, the actor had been partying for several days while celebrating Mardi Gras and was reportedly intoxicated and acting aggressively.

Bar employees asked him to leave, but authorities said he allegedly became violent outside the establishment. Investigators accused him of punching an employee and later returning to the scene, where he allegedly struck the same employee again and punched another person in the nose.

Video footage of the incident reportedly captured LaBeouf using homophobic slurs and head-butting one of the men involved. He was eventually restrained until police arrived and was later taken to a hospital for treatment.

After leaving the hospital, LaBeouf was arrested and booked into Orleans Parish Prison. He was released on a $100,000 bond and appeared in court on Feb. 26.

Following his release, LaBeouf discussed the incident in an interview with Andrew Callaghan’s Channel 5. During the interview, he acknowledged that he was “wrong for touching anyone,” while also making controversial comments about the incident.

LaBeouf has previously spoken publicly about his struggles with alcohol and anger. After the February arrest, a source close to the actor told Page Six that he needed to stop drinking to avoid a potentially devastating outcome.

For now, LaBeouf remains under probation and is expected to complete the court-ordered treatment next month. His reported daily drinking, however, raises further questions about how he is managing his recovery while continuing his acting career.
