Slipknot Reportedly Parts Ways With Sid Wilson After Nearly Three Decades

Slipknot has reportedly fired longtime DJ and keyboardist Sid Wilson after nearly 30 years with the band, according to TMZ.

The report says Wilson, 49, was informed on Friday that he had been permanently let go. Neither Wilson nor Slipknot has publicly commented on the decision, and no reason for his departure has been given.

Wilson joined Slipknot in 1998 as the band's ninth member before the release of its self-titled debut album in 1999. Performing under the stage name "#0," he handled turntables, keyboards, samples and sound effects throughout his 28-year run with the Grammy-winning metal band.

The reported split comes months after Wilson and Kelly Osbourne ended their engagement. The couple share a son, Sidney, who was born in 2022. Wilson also recovered from serious burn injuries following an explosion at his farm in 2024.

Outside Slipknot, Wilson has performed as DJ Starscream, a solo project inspired by the Transformers character.

If confirmed, Wilson's departure would be another major lineup change for Slipknot. Of the band's classic lineup, only Corey Taylor, Shawn "Clown" Crahan, Mick Thomson and Jim Root remain. Formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995, Slipknot is known for its masked image, energetic live performances and songs such as "Duality" and "Psychosocial."
