Spencer Pratt Compares Jimmy Kimmel to Harvey Weinstein Over Wife’s “Bad Idea” Romance Comments

Spencer Pratt has compared Jimmy Kimmel to convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein after Kimmel’s wife, Molly McNearney, discussed their early relationship on the “Armchair Expert” podcast.

McNearney, a former head writer on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” said she was initially worried about dating Kimmel because he was her boss. She described the relationship as a “bad idea” and said she feared it could damage her career and change the show’s workplace dynamic.

Kimmel said he did not have the same concerns at the time. McNearney responded that “the person in power usually doesn’t.”

Pratt, 43, later responded to a Page Six report about McNearney’s comments on X, writing, “Isn’t this what Harvey Weinstein did?”

Kimmel, 58, and McNearney, 48, kept their relationship private at first before marrying in 2013. They have two children.

Weinstein, 74, was convicted of sex crimes in California and sentenced to 16 years in prison. His 2020 New York conviction was overturned in 2024, and he was later convicted on a sex-related charge in a Manhattan retrial.

Kimmel has previously criticized Weinstein, saying in a 2017 interview that he hoped Weinstein would “get what he deserves” and that the scandal might make other perpetrators think twice.
