Tara Reid Makes Rare Public Appearance Nine Months After Hospitalization in Hotel Bar Incident

Tara Reid has made a rare public appearance, nine months after a hotel bar incident in Chicago left the actress hospitalized.

The 50-year-old “American Pie” star was recently photographed leaving an urgent care facility in Los Angeles. Reid kept her look casual, wearing a black top and hoodie with distressed denim.

The actress has largely stayed out of the public eye since November 2025, when she was taken to a hospital after becoming seriously unwell at a Chicago-area hotel bar.

At the time, concerned bystanders called 911 after reportedly seeing Reid in a distressed state. She was filmed slurring her words and struggling to stand or walk before being taken out of the bar on a gurney and transported to a hospital by ambulance.

Reid later said she believed her drink had been tampered with. According to her account, she had left her drink at the bar while she stepped outside to smoke a cigarette. When she returned, she said she blacked out and later woke up in the hospital with no memory of what had happened.

“It was the scariest feeling I have ever felt,” Reid said while describing the experience.

Following the incident, Reid’s representatives said she had filed a police report and was cooperating with investigators.

“Tara Reid has filed a police report after an incident in which she believes her drink was tampered with,” her representatives said in a statement. They also asked for privacy and urged people to keep a close eye on their drinks in public places.

However, investigators later said they found no evidence that anyone had put a substance into Reid’s drink.

The Rosemont Public Safety Department said surveillance footage did not show anyone tampering with or adding anything to her cocktail. Investigators also said a bartender had covered the drink while Reid was away, describing the practice as standard procedure.

Police said at the time that they were awaiting any available medical or toxicology results and would follow up if additional evidence emerged. They also stated that, based on the information available then, no criminal act had been established.

Reid has previously spoken publicly about her struggles with substance abuse, but she has maintained that she believed something had been added to her drink during the Chicago incident.

Her latest appearance comes after another relatively low-profile period. Reid was last publicly seen in May 2026 at a fundraiser during the Cannes Film Festival in France.

The actress, who rose to fame with roles in “American Pie,” “Urban Legend” and the “Sharknado” franchise, has not publicly provided a detailed update on her health following the latest sighting.
