Taron Egerton Reveals He Kissed Tom Hardy in an Unreleased ‘Legend’ Scene

Taron Egerton has revealed that he once kissed Tom Hardy during an unscripted scene for the 2015 crime film “Legend,” but the moment was ultimately left out of the movie.

Speaking on the “Armchair Expert” podcast, Egerton said he was filming a scene in which Hardy’s character returned to a car after killing someone. Egerton, who played Teddy Smith, the lover of Hardy’s character Reggie Kray, was waiting in the back seat.

“I grabbed his face, and I snogged him. And it wasn’t in the script,” Egerton recalled.

The actor said he immediately backed away, unsure how Hardy would react, but believed his co-star enjoyed the unexpected move. Egerton said director Brian Helgeland encouraged improvisation on set, giving the actors freedom to experiment.

Egerton described Hardy as intimidating but said he was excited to work with him. He also praised Hardy at the time as a warm-hearted and generous actor.

Hardy, 48, currently stars as Harry Da Souza in the crime drama “MobLand.” The series has not yet been renewed for a third season.
