Romy Reiner Honors Late Father With Acting Role

Romy Reiner, the youngest daughter of late filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner, has taken on an acting role that carries a personal connection to her father.

Romy, 28, appeared in the seventh and final episode of Larry David’s HBO series, “Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness.” She played a nurse caring for an ill President William Henry Harrison, portrayed by Fred Melamed.

Her appearance came weeks after Rob Reiner made his final screen appearance on the series, playing George Washington in its second episode, which aired July 3.

Rob Reiner, 78, and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, 70, were found stabbed to death at their Brentwood, California, home last December. Their son Nick Reiner, 32, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He has pleaded not guilty.

Since their parents’ deaths, Romy and her brother Jake have continued with their careers and public lives while honoring their father’s memory. On Aug. 2, the siblings threw out the first pitch at a Los Angeles Dodgers game against the Boston Red Sox as a tribute to their father, who was a longtime baseball fan.

Jake recently said that his love of the Dodgers has always been closely tied to his relationship with his father and that he will continue to feel his presence at Dodger Stadium.
