Taylor Swift Debuts Shorter Hairstyle at U.K. Wedding

Taylor Swift is entering a new hairstyle era.

The singer, 36, showed off her shortest haircut in years while attending a wedding in the U.K. on Saturday, Aug. 15. Swift joined close friends Sabrina Carpenter and Jack Antonoff at the wedding of recording engineers Oli Jacobs and Laura Sisk.

Swift wore a navy blue dress decorated with golden floral designs. She completed the look with her signature red lipstick, bangs and her engagement ring and wedding band following her recent marriage to Travis Kelce.

Her new haircut was first spotted earlier in the week. On Wednesday, Aug. 12, Swift was photographed leaving the private members’ club Annabel’s in London with a friend. The photos showed that her previously long hair had been cut to about shoulder length.

Swift has worn her blonde hair mostly long and straight in recent years, although she has recently been embracing more of her natural texture. Her latest look also brings back elements of the curly, textured style she has worn at different points in her career.

The singer recently appeared with a textured hairstyle and bangs in promotional images connected to her new single for Toy Story 5. She had also worn a similar look in 2024, including during a night out in Sydney with Carpenter.

Swift has previously spoken about how much her hair has changed over the years. In a 2019 Elle feature marking her 30th birthday, she recalled having very curly hair as a child before it gradually became straight.

“I learned that your hair can completely change texture,” Swift wrote at the time. She joked that her curls had disappeared just as she was learning to appreciate them and asked fans to “pray for their safe return.”

The wedding also had a professional connection to Swift. Jacobs and Sisk have worked as recording engineers on several of her albums and are longtime collaborators. Both have also worked with Carpenter and Antonoff.

The ceremony took place at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios near Bath, Gloucestershire, a venue with a special connection to Jacobs. According to his website, he began his career there as an assistant engineer and eventually became head engineer before moving to Los Angeles in 2022.

Sisk, who works between Los Angeles and New York, has also remained part of Swift’s professional circle. She previously attended Swift and Kelce’s wedding celebration at Madison Square Garden in New York City in July.

With her shorter cut, textured styling and familiar bangs, Swift appears to be giving fans another notable change to her ever-evolving look.
