Tiffany Haddish Pleads Guilty to Georgia DUI Charge After Four-Year Legal Battle

Tiffany Haddish has pleaded guilty to an alcohol-related DUI charge in Georgia, more than four years after her 2022 arrest.

The “Girls Trip” star entered the plea Tuesday as her long-delayed trial was set to begin in Fayette County, according to the Associated Press. Other misdemeanor charges, including a drug-related DUI, were dismissed.

Haddish was sentenced to 12 months of probation and must abstain from drugs and alcohol while undergoing testing. Her Georgia driver’s license has also been suspended. She will serve no additional jail time after spending less than four hours in custody following her arrest.

Police arrested Haddish on Jan. 14, 2022, after a 911 caller reported seeing her asleep behind the wheel of a Ford Explorer in Peachtree City. Officers said they detected the smell of alcohol and marijuana during the encounter.

The case was delayed for years, and Haddish’s lawyers unsuccessfully sought its dismissal in May. She was also arrested for DUI in Beverly Hills in 2023, later resolving that case with a no-contest plea to a vehicle code violation.

Reflecting on her legal troubles, Haddish joked that the incidents proved she was “very famous,” quipping that she had become “internationally known.”
