Tori Spelling Reveals Why Making ‘Evil Alien Conquerors’ Was Her “Worst” Acting Experience

Tori Spelling has revealed that making the 2003 sci-fi comedy Evil Alien Conquerors was one of the toughest experiences of her acting career.

Speaking on Stephen Baldwin’s One Bad Movie podcast, the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star said she hoped the film would showcase her comedic talents. Instead, she claimed director Chris Matheson repeatedly criticized her performances, leaving her feeling intensely scrutinized on set.

Spelling recalled being given notes after virtually every take and said the experience became so difficult that she would arrive on set feeling like “a puddle.” She ultimately wished Matheson would simply fire her and recast the role.

Spelling played Jan, an alien who disguises her furry appearance to blend in with humans. Despite appearing prominently in the film, her performance went uncredited—a decision she said her agent personally requested.

Now, Spelling calls Evil Alien Conquerors the worst film experience of her career, while Matheson went on to direct only one more feature, 2007’s Monkeys.
